When you post, you

The BLTeam wants to maintain a civil discussion, so we have put in place some guidelines to keep it that way. The guidelines for posting were developed by the entire team (not by any single individual) so that our site could be inclusive of as many people with fibromyalgia as possible. We have learned, from nearly 5 years of experience (both good and bad), that the Wall works best when it sticks to its topic: fibromyalgia and living with fibro. In the past, it has become unpleasant at times when people who post are not respectful of other people’s views on religion, sex and politics.

There are those who have resented the guidelines. They might say, “I have the right to speak freely about anything I want.” But there is another 'right' with equal weight. That is the right to freely associate.

Freedom of Association is an important right too. We all have the right to the freedom from the dissension that arguments about religion, sex or politics may create. So, in the interest of harmony and respect for each other, we ask you to respect our guidelines.

We are not restricting your right to speak freely with others about how your religion has helped you deal with your fibromyalgia. Nor are we keeping anyone from expressing their faith in their own daily life. We are simply suggesting that you take those conversations off the Wall and continue them privately via email between yourself and other like-minded people.

The BLTeam members are volunteers. We are not paid. We are not an arm of any government. We are not medical professionals or legal eagles. Our site is the epitome of liberty (freedom "from" as much as freedom "to") and justice (respecting all people's right to hold their own personal viewpoint) - a place that is free of arguments about things that don't relate to fibro. What we provide here is a place for you and others in the world to discuss fibromyalgia and living with fibromyalgia.

As we state in our Guidelines, we reserve the right to remove any posts that we deem inappropriate. Those who don't like that are free to look elsewhere for the place that is more amenable to their particular point of view.

On this site, we can make a choice:

we can be respectful of others;
we can be disrespectful and have our posts edited or removed;
we can go to another site for prayers.
All we ask is that those who post here be respectful of others and their beliefs.
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding. - The BLTeam
